Dr. Oluwabunmi Motunrayo Fatungase serves as the Chief Medical Director (CMD) of Olabisi Onabanjo University Teaching Hospital (OOUTH), Sagamu.
Appointed in May 2022, she is the first female to hold this esteemed position.
Educational Background and Qualifications
Dr. Fatungase is a Consultant anaesthetist with over 17 years of post-fellowship experience.
She holds fellowships from the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCA), the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS), and the International College of Surgeons (FICS).
Professional Experience
Before she was appointed CMD, Dr. Fatungase served as the Head of the Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care at OOUTH and the Obafemi Awolowo College of Health Sciences, Ikenne.
She was also the substantive Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee of the hospital from January 2019 to 2022.
Specializations and Interests
Dr. Fatungase specializes in Regional Techniques and Paediatric Anaesthesia.
She is passionate about palliative care and pain medicine, with a special interest in pediatric and regional anaesthesia.
Academic Contributions
In addition to her clinical roles, Dr. Fatungase is a Senior Lecturer in the Faculty of Clinical Sciences, Department of Anaesthesia and Intensive Care, at Olabisi Onabanjo University.
